Tararua Rodders 40th Anniversary

Marty & Tina went up Friday night and caught up with old friends at the Cobb & Co. The rest of us went up Saturday morning arriving at Cobb & Co about 9am. It wasn't long before the carpark was full.

Off on the Mystery Cruise. The first stop was at the Ravensdown Fertiliser Weigh Station. We had to guess the weight of our cars with passengers and then check it against the actual weight. The Spinner weighed in at 1880 kgs, Barry's Customline and Kerry & Mel's Chev were slighly less. The Thunderbird was just under 1700kgs.

Kerry & Mel go onto the Weigh bridge.

Lots of long straight roads plus beautiful weather equals great cruising.

Here we are queued up at the beginning of the Drag Strip.

Big block Caddy went well.

GCRCC at Manukau for lunch and games.

Grandad Rammie goes in and doesn't give up until gets an apple. It was a lot harder than it looks. They were the best apples I've tasted for a long time.

Marty at the motor-carna. Missed 17 cones but murdered number 18 under his car!  Ivan Booth came first with the best time, I had the second fastest time. No prize for being second, same as life!

This my pick for the weekend.  Late model big block Caddy engine.  Check out the custom aircleaner below.

Just Tararua and GCRCC, we felt very priviledged to have been invited.

Selena had done a great job of collecting old photos and the photos from the day and putting them up on the large screen. Brought back memories for our guys. Robin featured in quite a few.

After an awesome dinner they had Prize giving for the days's activities.  Marty won the only prize in our Club and it was for the worst Poker Hand.

Nathan the Club President gave a speech on the last ten years and Jocko gave a speech on the previous thirty.  Magoo spoke about how the Club was formed and some of the Clubs personalities.

Great Band got the girls up dancing.

Overall it was a great weekend.  Beautiful weather, great turnout of cars and people. Couldn't be better.
