July 4th at Monteith's

There was quite a good turnout for the July 4 Celebrations considering the late notice.  The atmosphere was a lot more relaxed than the last few years and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  No problems with Monteith's service, it was excellent.

Paul De Martin's Lincoln Capri out for another run since getting on the road a few months ago. Paul's done most of the work himself and it's looking super-sharp. The Capri has an extra 6" in the body than the Ford and heaps of luxury extras such as air-conditioning and automatic headlight dimmer. It features a 225 hp 341 cu in  Lincoln Y Block V8, four barrel carb mated to a standard (Ford-built) 3-speed Turbo-hydro automatic

Glenn & Marie Hughes Pontiac Firebird soon to go racing once the 454 Big Block is in place!

Ivan Booth's truck won Managers Choice along with Deane Shute's Pontiac.

A great time was had by all. We've had a few requests to organise a cruise to follow after the breakfast which I'm sure won't be problem if the Clubs' keen. One of Marty's cryptic Poker Runs could be the go.
